A.illusions Gallery: Depart

I've been ignoring both my manga and my deviantart lately... Not to mentiion ignoring all the works that have been requested to be done... It kinda makes me sad I'm too busy to draw the things that mean more to me... (´-ω-`)

So I decided, I better do something that I want before I go crazy. (*≧ω≦) So here are Shijirou and Rei Kuassary, the main characters of A.illusions.

Whether this is a sad or happy portrait is up to you to decide. (o^ ^o) I hope minna likes it...

I don't really know what inspired me to draw this in the first place... But it looks so peaceful nonetheless. And it's one of the rare moments Shijirou actually smiles. ^_^

Love Conquers All

It's just one of those drawing you can't seem to get yourself to finish... (￣ ￣|||)

When I saw ~FinalFlash0's request to do a collab with me doing the lineart and him doing the coloring, I thought I might as well upload this... It *has* been rotting in my files for a year now... (´-ω-`)

Remember my lovelies, Jazz and Miguel are copyrighted characters. :D Please do add a comment if you want to color this as well... I'd truly want to fave it and all. (´▽`*)

Coloring Notes:
Jazz (the girl on the left) has dark purple hair, and violet eyes. She's Chinese.
Miguel (the guy on the right) has brown hair and blue eyes. He's Filipino.

I think my entitling of this piece has something to do with listening to Josh Groban's new CD. ヽ(*・ω・)ﾉ But oh well...

This was made for Aly's blog. She's one of my biggest fans ever since I started A.illusions and Mango Jam's Twilight's Calling. So I made her a blog banner with her favorite bishies from Twilight's Calling. That's Enzo on the left, and AJ on the right (and the icon). The middle ish my character design for Aly-chan herself... I thought blonde hair and red eyes suits her. ⊂(･ω･*⊂)

I drew this with my tablet... Haha... Trying to master inking on a tablet. (´ ∀ ` *) It's hard I say!

Potato-chan asked me to make a blog banner of her with these two guys, as they were her favorites... I'm glad they had fans since they had very little screen time.

Lei Miko is one of my characters from my webmanga. I made this for her blog just because... I bugged her to let me. (つ≧▽≦)つ

Basically, my character design, then made her cosplay Suigintou from Rozen Maiden... Oh, that's Cinna-chan, her cabbit. ＼(≧▽≦)／ Go read my webmanga so that it'll make sense.

Mango Jam Issue 7

Oh~ My first cover page on print! ☆*:.｡.o(≧▽≦)o.｡.:*☆

So this was released a year ago... o(>ω<)o Why are my deviant art stuff always a year late? Lol? (´ ▽ `;)

Oh... I'm not too happy with what happened to this, haha. o(>ω<)o I had no idea there'd be so many texts on the cover! Lol... If you're interested, the picture without text is found here.

I was playing around with the colored outlines for this... :D I was following my colorist's coloring style (to little/no success XD). Check out Caroline's Deviant Art and samples of her colored pages of my work over here and here.

Something different from my usual anime artwork... (´ ∀ ` *) It's been a while since I last drew something semi-realistic.

I made this for work. They needed some "fan art" of cats for the cat lovers' site... I went through the net looking for a few reference pictures then painted this with my trusty tablet in Photoshop CS for a little over 2 hours... (All the while looking at a little stuffed tiger on my desk) ♡( ◡‿◡ )

His name is "Haku" which means "white" in Japanese. (＾▽＾;) Hope you guys like it. (o_ _)ﾉ彡☆

In the "Lovers' Lane" section of forums, Tifa was paired with Souji, so I made them a couple in the manga as well. They have a weird relationship though, because I have no idea how to make two completely opposite people like each other, haha!

In any case, I made Tifa this banner for her blog. It's just a bunch of artwork from the manga that I put together in a collage banner.

Quite an old piece... I've been ignoring my Deviant Art account for so long I figured I had to but something up before everyone began to speculate I was dead. (´▽`*)

You could call this a commission, I guess. The real Tori Avalon needed an art piece for his website project in school. Since he was the center of the website, he figured he might as well star as his anime character. (*≧ω≦) I glady drew this for him. He was lucky that I wasn't as busy as I am now at the time of his request. (´ ∀ ` *)

When Tori was working on his school project, he asked for my help regarding some illustrations. I think he needed to make his own website at the time, but he never did get to show the end result to me. ^^;;;

CrossOver: Colored Lei and Haro

And this is the colored version of Lei and Haro! Since Lei's uniform is blue-violet, I decided to give her an orange haro.

I think I colored this in the office, so it was done very quickly. I still love how it turned out though... it looks as if it had been airbrushed~ :3

When I was still working for a Hong Kong company, updates became so erratic that I had to hold long term hiatuses. Working too hard ruins creative endeavors, honestly... but that's just how it is sometimes. ^^;;;

CrossOver: Lei-Lei Explains

When our forums had the Yu-Gi-Oh! fever, we decided to make our own cards to make things more interesting. I decided that I should use my own webmanga, A.illusions, for my cards.

This trap card forces the opponent to reveal each new card he draws. It was quite effective when I was dueling against Machie-nii~ :3

CrossOver: Kanririn Shijirou

My very own "monster" card for our forum game! I made him both water and spellcaster because that's what he's like in the manga.

You can still see the manga panels peeking from the card's photo. I need to find my old template of this so I can make one for each character.

...hm, now there's an idea.

I had actually drawn this while I was at work one day... I was an hour early, so I turned on the AC, lights, and made coffee for everyone. Even though I had my cup of coffee, I was still feeling a little sleepy. That prompted me to draw this on scrap paper.

I then sneaked it into the office scanner and colored it... I finished long before boss came and caught me, haha~

Kurama in a Bottle

I know my sculpting isn't exactly even at the mediocre stage, but I think this is cute.

I had some fun with colored molding clay, and since I couldn't find the heart to squish it, I kept it in a bottle. Hence the title, Kurama in a Bottle, lol.

The idea was originally made by Eric Chan, my college mate in UST (University of Santo Tomas). I gave him poring concepts in exchange for my own poring in a bottle. The inspiration never left me I guess, but it's been years since I did this... I believe back in 2004 or something...

The pencil and mechanical eraser is there only to show the scale of the little cutie. (￣ω￣)

Kurama in Love

Ah~~ First Love, ain't it grand? (´ ∀ ` *)

I made this wallpaper last year for Valentine's Day, and I still like it for some reason. :D That girl beside him is Kitajima Maya, the controversial "girlfriend" during his younger years. Kurama erased her memories including her love for him back in their junior high days because of a certain incident, and I thought it was about time they got back together, don't you? (´ ∀ ` *)

The coloring was way too rushed on this one, but I like the effects that came from it though. Hope you guys like it too. (* ^ ω ^)

Agedashi Menu

Probably the last of the Agedashi Characters... (╥_╥) So sad...

This is the cover for the new Menu Agedashi made when they decided to have Korean dishes served along with the Japanese ones. I kinda like the way this is composed. (* ^ ω ^) But I think the guy looks more like a baker than a chef, ne? Not that it matters much... (´｡• ᵕ •｡`) ♡

This signboard was never made. I preferred this design over the first one, but I guess the lack of funds made the owners decide to cancel the project. It's such a shame though, I think this one's pretty cute with the chibis and all...

Agedashi - 7 of 7

The last of the Seven Scrolls for Agedashi Japanese Restaurant. (≧▽≦)o

Here's the female mascot again, this time with the restaurant's logo. No, that is not a chocolate cake, contrary to popular demand. (´ ▿ `;) That's actually an Agedashi Tofu (a Japanese dish of fried tofu with a thick sweet sauce, quite tasty and unique).

Well, I have nothing more to say about thhis project except that it was a lot of fun. I have other materials from this restaurant to show you guys, but that will have to wait till I find them from the CDs. (*¯︶¯*)

Agedashi - 5 of 7

Ah... The 5th scroll of 7 series. What happened to 2-4 you ask? Well, they're more on photography rather than paintings, so I decided to skip them (aside from the fact of course, that my photography skills are still not up to par). (´ ▽ `;)

So, here's the guy mascot for Agedashi Japanese Restaurant. It was actually a funny thing that led me to create a guy mascot. The initial plan was to have only one mascot, then one logo. But one of the requests recieved from the restaurant, went something like this:

"Ok, so you got a bishoujo for the guys to drool on, a kawaii tofu of some sort for the kiddies, but now bishounen for the girls?! That's insane!!!"

So, after everyone finished being "o.o!!!" over the suggestion, we decided to have 2 mascots. I like the way this bishounen turned out. Even his expression is not half-bad.

This represents the moment when Rei goes from one forum to another. I wanted it to look like she was going through a matrix with hexagonal controls to choose her destination.

Of course, not everyone can go through forums this way... this is just her. ^_^

Agedashi - 1 of 7

Hm... Let's see...

This is a Wall Scroll of some sort for a Japanese Restaurant called Agedashi. Too bad that it closed down back in December... *sigh*

This was the first drawing I made for them to be their mascot... Maple leaves and autumn colors were the theme, so there are lots of reds and oranges here. Me thinks the blue sky is a good compliment in this scroll.

Oh yes, that Haiku (a form of Japanese Poetry) is also written by me. :D

A croped version of the original 5ftx4ft painting in Temaki Japanese Resto, done to fit a 1024x768 screen resolution. ^^

The characters featured in this painting are all original, except of course for Maki-chan, the resto's mascot. The other characters are mine, and featured in an on going webmanga called "A.illusions". You may find the webmanga over here: [link] or click on my website on my profile. :D

The characters' names are as follows: (clockwise, starting with the mascot)
Maki-chan, Shijirou, Azorite, Tori Avalon, Feanne, Syun Ukiya, Tifa, Rei Kuassary, Jemma aka "Aya-kun is Mine", and Lain.

Of course, there's the three waitresses in blue... They're random so I haven't named them yet. ^^

So why is this so flat? No shadding? Nothing? Well... That was the order of the Resto's Owner. He wanted it to look more cartoony instead of anime like... Go figure... ^^;

When Tori gets a little carried away with his jokes, he brings out the "very scary" side of me... ^^;;;

I remember we use to have these "100 hit combo" moments in the chatroom. Those were very carefree days I miss... Everyone grew up and went on with their lives. It's a sad, painful truth.

Perhaps one day we will meet again~
