*silently screaming* You guys, I had no idea it was possible to make digital art look like this! I'm so in love with Manga Studio's chalk and pastel brushes right now! This piece looks as if it was drawn with pencils and colored with pastels on actual paper!!

I may have just found the solution to my "overly digital" and "cold" art works! You have no idea how happy I am right now!!! ♡~(>w<;;*)

I hope Marielle will like her prize! I should probably get some sleep, but I'm hoping this will get good feedback because I'm going to be using this technique a lot from now on~

Anpanic: Anko-chan!!

I forgot to update here again, silly me! (OwO;;*) Lots of things are suddenly happening all at the same time again, but I'm glad I was able to finish this in time for Anpanic's Drawing Contest!

Anpanic is a cute little online store that has been fulfilling my UtaPri (aka ITTOKI OTOYA FOREVER) needs for quite a while now... I had been planning to draw her mascot as a thank you to the Admin, but then, like I said, life happened, and I kept getting side tracked! (uwu;;) Also, the thing about drawing a new character is that I can never decide how to pose them, so I ended up overthinking and not doing anything at all!

The contest provided characteristics about Anko-chan, so that helped a lot! Plus, there's a backstory behind that wind chime, but that is secret between Admin and me~ (>w<;;*)

Anyhow, I hope I can win because, LOL, Admin is going to Shining Store in Japan, and I need extra pocket money for more Otoyans, ok? ♡~(=v=;;*) I have no shame!!!

Ok, I may have gone a little overboard on this..! I guess I really miss drawing them. (>///<*)

The first winner of my art raffle is Miho, and she requested Louise and King from my manga, WISH*GRANTED. Honestly, I was really hoping these two had ended up together instead of Harry, but then again, angels can't be with humans, can they? (;~;*)

It looks like Louise is begging King to stay with her... Or maybe she's upset that King left her? I'm not sure, but I hope Miho likes it! (^^*)

Celebrating Otoya's Birthday from Maji Love Legend Star!

UtaPri's 6th Live performance ended yesterday, and I was feeling sad about not being able to go... Not that I eould be able to enjoy a Japanese concert without understanding Japanese in the first place, haha! But my love for Otoya is getting borderline obsessive!

Some of you have probably already seen this sketch on my Facebook or Instagram, but I decided to try and color it on my PC. It turned out really well, considering I didn't ink it digitally~! (^^*) I like how the pencil sketches and shading is still visible underneath the colors! I shpuld make these more often!

By the way, I'll be hosting a sketch giveaway event soon on Facebook, so please watch out for it!

Gijinka #4: McDonald's "Ron"

I think Ron might just be my best gijinka yet. This came out better that I thought it could, even though I had to stop myself from continuously adjusting all the small things..!

You might notice that this one is slightly more than a half body portrait, because I wanted to show off his tummy (or lack thereof) a tiny bit... mm-hm~ I'm lovin' it~ (*q*;;')

Some facts about Ron:

• also named "Ronald" but prefers to be called "Ron"
• can eat all the burgers and fries he wants but never gains a pound
• actually enjoys running a lot, which accounts for his strong metabolism
• doesn't like his unruly hair, thus keeping it long enough to be tied into a half pony
• wishes Kei would lighten up
• thinks Joey is like an annoying little brother who won't stop following him
• sometimes looks up to said annoying little brother

I was thinking about keeping his shirt white with red stripes like in my original design, but when I accidentally inverted the color of the white layer, I realized how good black looks when compared to white. It made the white version look like pajamas worn under an inexpensive suit!

Do you prefer the older version or this one? (^^*)

Gijinka #3: Kentucky Fried Chicken "Kei"

I gave Kei a bit of an update from his original design. He looks bored with my shenanigans though, and I feel a little, teeny bit sorry for him! But he seems to have a lot of fans, so I thought I should draw him again while I think of designs for the other cafes!

Here are some facts about Kei:

• snobby, but responsible rich kid
• idolized his great-grandfather, Colonel Sanders
• really hates socializing, despite his popularity
• is so, completely, done with Ron and Joey's rivalry
• makes the weirdest chicken menus on the planet
• does not care if you think cheese-top burgers and chicken sisig are weird
• actually, he doesn't care what you think, period

I think that's it for now! Hope you guys still love him! (^^*)

ILUP: A Quiet Morning

I don't know about you guys, but I like the feeling of having my hair brushed. My sisters and I used to do that, and we get to talk about anything under the sun. (^^*)

That's the main reason why Hoy Ikaw is smiling in this illustration... It may seem off character for him, but even he would relax if his hair was being brushed~

It makes me wonder what they are talking about though..! Preston does not looks happy! (>—<;;*)

I had thought about drawing my characters this way after I saw a screenshot from Yuri On Ice's ending theme... But I couldn't decide who to use until I remember Misaki-taichou mentioning that she wanted to comb Hoy Ikaw's hair. (=v=✩)

Gijinka #2: Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf "Teal"

Ok, this is getting addicting, haha! And since I'm drawing on a small canvas, it's very easy to finish!

For Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, I named him Teal!

• the creator of the original ice blended coffee
• has to wear a sweater because of all the ice blended drinks he consumes
• super friendly towards his customers
• doesn't judge you if you order non-coffee drinks in his cafe
• gives the best hugs
• loves the color purple
• has simplified membership cards and offers free wifi
• calls Starbucks "Hoshi-senpai"
• tries his best to keep Hoshi from going into berserker mode

I may be slightly biased since CBTL is my favorite coffee shop. Also, I really love the color purple, so it's hard for me not to love Teal~!

I wonder who I should draw next?

Gijinka #1: Starbucks "Hoshi"

It seems people are really getting into making gijinka (personification) of restaurants, cafes, and even drugstores lately. I thought I might as well give it a try while I still have a bit of time in my hands~ I also needed an excuse to draw more bishounen in suits so there..!

Meet Hoshi, my version of Starbucks!

• his name means "star" in Japanese
• pronounced slightly differently, his name sounds like the term for "want" in Japanese
• always up to date with what the kids are into despite his age
• people think he has trendy white hair, but actually, he's so stressed out because his customers always asking for bizarre, personalized drinks
• very good at memorizing those bizarre, personalized drinks
• quietly spites you by spelling your name wrong
• always smiling despite feeling the absolute need to throw your coffee to your face

I was a bit torn with his hair color... The wavy patterns on the logo can be interpreted as either green or white hair, but I wanted him to look trendy, so I gave him white hair.

After drawing this, however, I realized he kinda looks like Shinomiya Natsuki from Uta no Prince-sama, AHAHA!

Anyway, are gijinka supposed to be original characters, or fan arts? Or both? Hm...

Crystal Shadows: Sakura

This was supposed to be a warm-up sketch but it somehow ended up finished. (o – o。*)?

The background is actually Miss Harlow's photo which I edited to look like a painted background from an anime. I had been wanting to make an "instagram" series where, instead of me taking selfies and the like, I'd have my characters do it for me!

I guess you could call this a stolen/paparazzi shot? Jeremy was supposed to be taking a quiet stroll under the cherry blossoms, but I somehow ended up with this emotional scene. (*・∧・*)? I'm not exactly sure what's going on, but he seems a bit sad about it.

Maybe I'm also feeling sad about something... Mm...

The Art of Pom: Webtoon 04

It's been a super busy week... add to that a stupid wisdom tooth that's decided to stay laying down at the back of my lower right jaw, and you got yourself a very, very irritated manga artist. (｡>﹏<｡)ﾉﾞ

On the bright side, that last panel turned out ok thanks to my mood. I've forgotten how fun shonen-style manga could be... not that I'd consider this series shonen, since it's still pretty shoujo-ish, but I'm rambling, so!

Azel here is the black wolf found in page 2, at the last panel's lower right corner. I had previously colored all background wolves with blue hues to focus on the guy with the glasses and Artemio, but since Azel has decided to take action, I used his "true" colors. It's a bit of a risk to go from all pastel to richer hues, but I wanted to emphasize that last panel.

Hope you guys are still enjoying these so far! Time for me to try and get some proper sleep! ( *д*)

Gift: Karma Coloring Book - Boys Side

For this week, let's feature the 3 boys from KARMA! (*≧∀≦*)

Dominic Hunter is a fire angel like Rei. The two of them are the few fire angels Heaven has, and for the both of them to be on Earth is very rare and unprecedented. Rei is actually older than Dominic, but he can be very overprotective of his older sister.

Shijirou is an overseer of angels, meaning he keeps all angels in check. If anyone goes over the line of what they could and should do, he will be the one to guide them back. I haven't given him much of a role in KARMA yet, but his element is water.

Finally, we have Tori. He's the youngest among the angels, but that doesn't mean he is naive. In chapter two, he couldn't hear the conversation that Shijirou had with Rei, but he suspected that there was something more to the case they had just resolved. His element is earth, which possibly makes him more powerful than Rei or Dominic.

The Art of Pom: Webtoon 03

I actually finished this last night/early this morning. But I was so sleepy that I wanted to have a second look at it before I posted it. In the end, I'm so ridiculously happy with how Artemio looks in the 2nd panel~ He looks like a strong man from the village protecting his little girl~! (♥ω♥ ) ~♪

A little description of Artemio's attire:

The Barong Tagalog, more commonly known as simply Barong (and occasionally called Baro), is an embroidered formal shirt which is considered the national dress of the Philippines. It is lightweight and worn untucked over an undershirt.

The sheer fabric of the barong is surprisingly durable. Artemio's barong is longer than usual though, and I added a belt to it, just because I wanted to stylize it.

The next page will challenge all my shonen knowledge. I haven't drawn action scenes in a while, let's hope I can pull it off. σ(≧ε≦ｏ)

This is a 2-part manga drawn by me and written by Raykosen.
First half was sold in Komikon 2016, and the 2nd half is already done!

The Art of Pom: Webtoon 02

Hm... honestly speaking, I'm not entirely sure where all this is going..! (」°ロ°)」 Who's driving this train wreck?! Nobody knows!!! щ(ಥдಥщ)

That being said, I need to think about what to do with the next page, so that update will probably take a while? It was fun to paint all that blood though... Artemio's blood stained barong turned out really well!

This side of Artemio... (;*△*;) I've explored it several times in the past, and yes, he really can be that violent if the need arises. Aside from protecting Lumawig, anything that involves cruelty against women and children will literally make him snap!

Gift: Karma Coloring Book - Rei Kuassary

This week, we'll be featuring my favorite angel, Rei Kuassary! ( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ She has two solo portraits in Honey's Coloring Book, so I guess Rei is one of Honey's favorites too!

Rei is a fire angel, and a she's is the only female angel featured in KARMA so far. Unfortunately, I can't really write about her much because I'm planning to continue KARMA in the near future, and writing about her powers or her background would be a huge spoiler for the main plot.

I can tell you that her sword is definitely not her primary weapon of choice. *(*´∀｀*)☆

In any case, Honey used a coloring application on one of her illustrations... this is the result:

Doesn't Rei look so cool in a white coat?! (*≧▽≦) I did an illustration of Rei in a white coat years ago, but now I want to try it again because of this!

I really should start writing that main plot... Then I can start drawing this series again!

The Art of Pom: Webtoon(?)

Ok, don't panic! o(^∀^*)o I'm not starting another webcomic! I just needed a palette cleanser from my recent failure, so I tried making more from this series- which really needs a better title!

A bit of a spoiler for those who read Celestia: Artemio is a demigod, meaning his father is an engkanto or "god" while his mother is human. Technically, he should be a prince, being his father's first born son, but since he's not of pure blood, he's considered "unclean". The human world would not accept him either because he didn't know how to hide his ears and tail when he was a child. Prince Lumawig took pity on him and allowed Artemio to live in his palace. When he came of age, Artemio became Prince Lumawig's servant and protector.

As for PomPom... ( ≧Д≦) YumYum made this really horrible back story for her, which is what inspired this webtoon! Please note that this is mostly eye candy for me, and not an official timeline for either of our series.

This page took me 3 days to finish... I don't know how webtoon artists manage to release their episodes on a weekly basis! They must be a different species altogether!

Next character featured: Mel Ylagan! One of the demons / fallen angels introduced in chapter 3, who was supposed to be a male character, but at the insistence of my assistant Suoh, "he" began a "she"! ━Σ(ﾟДﾟ|||)━

I created this character and named her "Ylagan" because this Filipino surname means "to dodge". Although she loves to steal souls, she's also a really big scared-y cat! (∗´꒳`) Actually, she'd rather avoid confrontation altogether, even though she's not particularly weak! I wonder why that is?

Mystic Messenger Fan Art: Zen x MC3

The manga / black and white version actually came out on Facebook first... I drew this on my laptop when my desktop decided to die on me in the middle of drawing ILUP! (((( ;°Д°)))) I've been pretty obsessed with this game for a while, and even though I've played through Jumin's and Saeyoung's routes, Zen is still my true end~ ♥(ˆ⌣ˆԅ)

I always use MC3's avatar when I play the game, and the default heroine with long brown hair is usually paired with 707, so I thought this would be more appropriate eye candy for myself! Plus, this MC is really pretty, don't you agree? (*^▽^*)

I made some changes to the original piece before I submitted this to my pixiv account. Just a few minor changes, but it made me wonder if I made the piece worse by tinkering with it a little too much?

Which version do you like better? The colored or the black and white one? (*≧▽≦)

Gift: Karma Coloring Book by Darky

I've been a bad author. 、ヽ｀(~д~*)、ヽ｀

2 years ago, I received the most amazing gift! Honey, my number 1 fan, created a coloring book featuring the characters of KARMA. However, because of my incredibly hectic schedule, there was no time for me to download all of the beautiful photos she uploaded in Facebook. (;*△*;)

And I'm a control freak, so I had to date each and every photo so I can put them in the gallery in proper order. (´∇ﾉ｀*)ノ So! I'll be posting photos every Friday from now on to make it up to Honey~ (*´・ｖ・)

Let's start off with Lily! She's so pretty here, and a little sad. Maybe she's thinking about Jeremy, or her family... But she'll be ok. She'll be with them again very soon~ (´ω｀★)

And it looks like I'm somewhat done with updating kurohiko.com! (*´・ｖ・) How do you guys like it? It's not a major overhaul, but I've been wanting to change the color theme to purple for a while now. If you guys find something that's not really working, please do let me know? I'll be sure to try and fix it!

New Manga: I Love You P're

I apologize for the lack of updates lately... Google's new image host / uploader annoyed me so much that I couldn't bear to look at my ruined blogs for a long time. But I'm paying for my site name annually, so I might as well use it, no matter how pissed off I am. (；￣Д￣）

If you guys have been following me on Facebook, you've probably heard about my collaboration with Raykosen. "I Love You, P're" is a gender-bent, romantic comedy about the daughter of a chief butler, who's decided to take over her father's position. One reader pointed out that there are female butlers nowadays, so she doesn't understand why Precious Toledo had to pretend to be Preston Toledo, but well, if we did that, then there wouldn't be a story now, would there? o(*>ω<*)o

So far, the series is really fun to draw! Mainly because I get to draw so many handsome butlers, and a spunky, headstrong girl who is not as annoying as most reverse-harem heroines are! o(*≧□≦)o I'm currently in love with the butler in charge of food and kitchen, Belvedere Fernandez, but we don't really see much of him in the first half... I've also been writing "fan fiction" about him and Avery de Leon whilst annoying Raykosen to no end, but oh well, at least we got the second half done and ready for the next Komikon!

Lastly, a word of warning, I'll be updating kurohiko.com in the next few days, so expect some site changes and falling debris. ヾ(｡･ω･)ｼ Thanks everyone for continuing to support me! I'll continue to do my best for this year too!
