2020 Art Summary

2020 was such a challenging year.

I had stopped drawing webtoons altogether because of a personal matter. I thought I could kick myself and get over it in a month's time.

Sadly, that was not the case.

Even sketching was so very challenging this year. My sensei had to wake me up by telling me to sit in front of my PC for an hour each day, even if it meant staring at a blank canvas. I cried so many nights out of sheer frustration, so I was pleasantly surprised (and relieved) at how my Art Summary looks this year.

I will do better in 2021. Even if it means clawing my way back, I'll definitely keep trying!!

Joking, but yes, I made a new character just for this series. v(￣∇￣) He is the leader of the Black Wolves, but I've yet to decide if he is a Prime Minister or a General.

I do think he turned out rather handsomely though~

The Art of Pom: Webtoon 07

"Kidlat ng Amang Langit" roughly translates to "Lightning of the Heavenly Father". It sounds cooler in Tagalog, so I decided to leave it at that. (´･ω･`)

So this is where the original script ended. I could finish this up with one more page, but I've decided to stretch it out a bit more. I'm beginning to have fun with drawing manga again, so I'm going to take advantage of that enthusiasm as much as I can. (≧▽≦) Hope you guys are enjoying the ride so far!

I've been thinking a lot about giving this series a proper title...

There is a white fox (PomPom), a red fox (Artemio), and a bunch of black wolves. I've temporarily named it "Red and White Foxes" on my Manga page, but if anyone has any better ideas, please help me?

And yes, that would be the same scientist who was begging for his life earlier. Ehehe~

I found this old WIP in my hard drive and thought about finishing the series... Not that this is actually anything serious, but it's pretty fun to do! And with everything that's been going on lately, I need a bit of fun back into my life.

Crystal Shadows by Power-J

Mastur Power-J has graced me with his artwork!! Aaahh... this is so beautiful! I really love the colors on this piece, it's so vibrant! Most importantly, my babies look so happy!!

Could this be a sign that I should get back to drawing Crystal Shadows again? I haven't felt like drawing sequential art in a long time... Perhaps it's about time to get off my lazy behind and just do it.

Happy Birthday from Kakashi!

Happy birthday to my youngest nephew! The last character that I remember him liking is Kakashi from Naruto, so I drew this for him very quickly last night. (๑•﹏•)

I realize that it is already the 23rd in Asia, but in his time zone, it's still his birthday. ( ；∀；) So happy birthday! I hope you like it! And I really hope that I am not embarrassing him in front of his friends or something uncool like that! ｡:ﾟ(;´∩`;)ﾟ:｡

This took so long to finish! I was pretty nervous that I was going to abandon it halfway through, so I'm glad I was able to complete it~

Angel Rei Fan Art by Honey Den

Honey Den has drawn another fan art of Angel Rei and she's so pretty in Honey's style! Kinda reminds me of Rayearth for some reason... Maybe it's because of the face shape?

There are two versions because she was asking be about the colors, particularly the fire effect for the burning feathers. I'm not very good at it myself, but I gave her a bunch of samples she could get inspiration from... I think it turned out pretty well, don't you think so?

4 Friends' OCs

I needed a break from my usual commissions, so I kidnapped some of my friends' OCs and drew them in my style. (^^*) Pretty happy with the result, though I wish I can more time to draw more details~ Maybe another time, when I'm not so busy.

And I actually followed the grid this time, ahaha!

I decided to upload each character separately too, in case their owners would like to use them for icons or something. I really like how the black grid is a stark contrast with the pastels of the artwork itself. I might use this effect more often in future pieces. (^^*)

Happy birthday! You are the character I never thought I'd ever learn to appreciate, but you are so pure and kind... Maybe a little bratty at times, but you're a real prince, so who could really blame you?

Also I only realized this now, but my past birthday illustrations all misspelled "happy" as "happpy"! Ahaha~

Otoya: Love is War

I was thinking about keeping this for a while because I was just doodling to get used to a new pen tip. Unfortunately(?), the doodle became a finished piece. ❤(≧▽≦)❤

The idea came when I was chatting with a friend on how Ranmaru-senpai was showering me with attention in Shining Live lately, unlike Otoya who refuses to come home unless it's a choose-your-idol, guaranteed UR card. She reckons Otoya will eventually try to win me back if I keep falling harder for Ranmaru-senpai...

"Love is War after all."

And hence, the Otoya version was born. ( ╹▽╹ )

Maybe I'll make one for each UtaPri character one day. I'm too deep in this hell to climb out any time soon, so why the heck not? (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤

Happy Birthday, Ranmaru-senpai! I finally got to do this series again! I've been so sad for the past year that it's been difficult to even keep this site up to date. I'm feeling a lot better now though, and I hope everyone here is too!

Rosso's New Pants

I've decided to add my sewing and crocheting projects to this blog. I'll be back posting a lot so I hope you guys don't mind as migrating these from Facebook will take some time. (^^*)

Finished!! My boy looks happy! ( ꈍᴗꈍ) So what have I learned? 

• The waistline is purposefully uneven because when the dolls sits, it needs the extra length on the back. (I cut this straight, so it's low waist on the back?!) 
• Stitches cannot be too tight or too loose. There is a small window between the two, good luck finding it!! 
• You can straighten your backstitching the same way you draw line art. Picture the connection from point A to point B and just pray to God it's straight!! 
• I need a better technique in doing seams. 
• Bigger is better than smaller. OMG... My eyes and fingers hurt from the S M O L . 
• Finish is better than perfect. Chances are, no one will notice your mistakes and if they do and make fun of you, you can snip them with fabric scissors. (ʘᴗʘ✿)

Gonna be taking a break from the redraws after this one, because I might try something a little more serious.

While everyone else was crushing over Tuxedo Kamen, I wanted to be with Motoko. (◍•ᴗ•◍) He's sweet, kind, and he never made fun of Usagi. I wanted to be with someone like that, and I was only in grade school when I met him. (≧▽≦)

I hope everyone is well during this pandemic... I feel very scared everyday, and I know of at least 2 people who died from CoVid-19. I don't have any words of encouragement for now, but please, stay home as much as you can, and wash your hands. Wear a mask whenever you are outside. Keep yourself safe for your family's sake.

A friend of mine said I was obsessed with this meme. She might be right. But I can't exactly leave until I draw my favorite senshi now, could I? ( ◜‿◝ )♡

I always thought Setsuna was very beautiful. She has tanned skin, which made her so strikingly different from the other scouts. And she was so tall! The self sacrifice that it took for her to guard the Door of Space and Time, even if it meant being alone for a long time, made me think she was an incredibly strong woman.

I wonder why the screenshots chosen for this meme have mostly surprised/worried expressions? ヽ((◎д◎))ゝ

Anyway, maybe I should hop onto another meme before I drive everyone away with my love for Sailor Moon. (≧▽≦) See you guys next time!!

(• ▽ •;) Okay, yes, I could not help myself. I drew Sailor Moon after all, so I definitely need to draw my first crush.

I say "crush" because I wanted Tuxedo Kamen to end up with Sailor Moon, and not for myself. (≧▽≦) but wow, did I ever love this series..!

I might end up doing a lot more of these because it is such great practice! I need to get used to this new program and hopefully it happens a lot sooner than later! Wish me luck!! (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)

Also, I am trying to get used to Clip Studio for my new job, so I decided this would br good practice. (｡･ω･｡)ﾉ♡ What do you guys think? Is there much difference from the original?

Gonna post this now so I can focus on my commissions later~ This is the last one for now and she is the prettiest one!

In hindsight, I should have used a better photo of Dylan, but for those who are unfamiliar, Dylan has sky blue eyes. (^^*) So their daughter has her daddy's eyes and his wavy hair, but she does have her mom's hair color! I wanted to give her hydrangeas for some reason too... Maybe it's her favorite flower?

...and I have been thinking about this since yesterday, but doesn't she look like someone? A CLAMP character, maybe?

One more mixed OC... which is now turning into "When 2 OC's Have a Child", lol!!

This one is a lot of fun to make! He was supposed to be their son, but he can be a daughter too, and... why does he look evil when his dad's an angel?! Or maybe he's not evil and he's just judging everyone, I am not sure, but I really love his design very much!

Both parents have blue eyes though, so he might just be the male version of Honey's OC?

Also, my angels are very popular requests for this meme... I think I better use another series for the next one. And I cannot believe I don't have a better colored illustration of Tori. I will work on that another time, for sure.

Got to finish the next one! This time it's with Misaki's character, Misachan~!

She drew a fan art of Misachan with Dominic before, so I was kinda expecting this to happen~ Unfortunately(?), I couldn't get this idea of the two of them having a daughter together because I know Dominic would love to have a daughter. And he'd be a great dad... I know he would!

I seem to be keeping the recurring theme of using the "dad's" eyes for their kid, and then using the "mom's" features for the rest! (^^*) Their daughter does have dad's hair type though, even if that is mom's hair color. Oh, and she definitely has her dad's personality! Hehe~

I have one more coming up! Hopefully, my stomach will stop hurting long enough for me to finish it very quickly! I hope everyone is doing well during quarantine! (^^*)
